I am an agoraphobic indigenous Kanienʼkehá:ka (Mohawk) mixed lesbian who has fought for several years a worsening health condition that is currently killing me. The point of no return is not that far away. I have spent years exhausting any paths and means to get help, enduring extreme and near endless pain. I have reached the critical point I have feared all this time. And to make matters worst, the family responsible for inflicting a lifetime of abuse on me is stalking me heavily online, which has not only exacerbated my agoraphobia, but has also made the efforts to build this harder than I could describe. If you have been following me for a while, you are familiar with my struggle and saw me talking about it throughout the years. There are no other options or help besides this, besides you. I need your help or I’m going to die, this is the last chance I have left. people always talk about leaving comments on ao3 like it’s a nice thing to do, or the best way to encourage writers to keep writing, or overall like it’s how you Do Your Part in fandom
and yeah, all those things are true, but having spent the past few months leaving enthusiastic comments on as many things as i can, i have a different perspective
you should leave comments on fics because it’s fun
taking the time to stop and focus on what i like about a story has made me way more aware of what’s going on in stories and what i like about them. there’s bit more actual comprehension and appreciation and not just beaming content into my eyes to fill time
i like noticing cool little things in fics, or riffing on funny events. i’ve never been very good at speculating or picking apart characters, but sometimes something clicks and it rocks.
and of course it’s pretty nice when you get a response and it’s clear you’ve made another person happy
so yeah, you should leave comments for your own sake, too. it makes reading better!
what do you mean they dropped a surprise animal crossing update out of nowhere after saying they wouldn’t do anymore free updates. WHAT DO YOU MEAN they just casually dropped multiple crafting without even mentioning it. what do you mean we have creative mode AND have multiple save slots that we can decorate with friends now. and resetti has a new job where he literally helps reset and flatten your island. never kill yourself
